MyoSim Models
MyoSim is an open-source software library for simulating muscle-driven movement, providing tools for biomechanical modeling and analysis. MyoSim enables researchers to build and simulate models of muscle-tendon systems, analyze muscle activation patterns, and study the dynamics of movement. The software is particularly useful for understanding how muscles generate forces and how these forces produce movement in biomechanical systems, including golf swing analysis.
Available Models
Muscle-Tendon Unit Models
Models of individual muscle-tendon units with detailed force-length-velocity relationships, enabling analysis of muscle force production and energy consumption during movement.
Multi-Muscle System Models
Models of systems with multiple muscles acting on joints, allowing for analysis of muscle coordination, synergies, and force sharing in complex movements like the golf swing.
Forward Dynamics Simulations
Forward dynamics models that simulate movement from muscle activations, enabling predictive analysis and optimization of movement patterns and muscle activation strategies.
Muscle Activation Models
Models for simulating muscle activation dynamics, including excitation-activation coupling, allowing for realistic simulation of muscle behavior in response to neural commands.
